To maintain comfortable temperatures for everyone in the family, keep temperatures between 20 degrees C and 22 degrees C during winter. In the summer, you may be able to keep your home as warm as 25 degrees C. These temperatures should keep your home comfortable, but you won’t lose money paying for heating and cooling you don’t need.
Special Considerations for the Elderly
It’s important to maintain warm home temperatures if you or any of your family members are elderly. That’s because older people are more susceptible to cold-related health problems such as circulatory disease and respiratory conditions.
Temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees C throughout the house should help elderly people avoid health problems. You should keep living rooms where they spend most of their time at a comfortable temperature of about 24 degrees C.
When You’re Away from Home
